I really like this pasta. My kids like it too. This doesn't taste like the average carboard-ish tasting whole wheat pasta. One warning though and I don't know if it is just me but I find this cooks WAY faster than the amount of time recommended on the box. I recommend to stir and test often.

In a tomato sauce it may be likable. The whole wheat pasta in general has a bolder flavor, thicker texture, with a darker color. Adding flaxseed oil gives an awkward taste,that picky eaters, and young people may not enjoy!
Thankfully, this pasta variety has the noodles without the dreadful flaxseed,as an option!

This spaghetti is excellent. It's almost too good to be true. It's Organic, it's whole grain, it's got omega-3's, it's high fiber, it's high protein, and it's low sodium (ZERO sodium, actually). I really like these oats. I cook one cup (dry) of oats at a time, and store it in the refrigerator. It lasts me 4 or 5 days. It's great with maple syrup, honey, molasses and/or fruit. I am surprised by some of the hyperbole within the reviews of steel-cut oat products. Rolled oats and steel-cut oats are very similar, and both are delicious. Most reviewers are saying that the steel-cut oats have a better texture. Although I agree, they don't seem to appreciate the extent to which their oatmeal's texture is determined by the amounts of water (or milk) and time used to prepare it. The instructions printed on the packages of rolled oats (aka quick or instant oats) has the cook use far too much water and too little time during cooking, resulting in oatmeal with a thin or "slimy" consistency. By manipulating the amount of water and time used during preparation, you can get the oatmeal to have almost the exact same consistency as you would get from steel-cut oats. The texture will still be slightly different, perhaps inferior, but the difference is subtle. The taste of steel-cut oats is also similar, but slightly better. I cannot understand why so many people are raving about steel-cut oats while acting as if rolled oats are the most disgusting thing on the face of the planet. They are both very good. I think that most people would prefer steel-cut oats, however. If you like rolled oats, you will like steel-cut oats. If you don't like rolled-oats, you probably will not like steel-cut oats either.

We do it in a slow cooker! - Max Truman - California
We tried a lot of brands before we found Hodgson. We take an eighteen ounce box and dump it in a slow cooker with 3 quarts of water and cook it until the temperature is at least 180, then let it cool and store it in the refrigerator. We have kept it for a week or more with no change in taste or texture. It's very convenient and the first thing we do every morning- just add to milk in a bowl and microwave.

As an avid baker, I've tried just about every kind, brand and blend of flour out there. Whole wheat pastry flour tops the list.

Even for people who think they won't like "whole wheat" because it sounds too health-food-y, think again. Every time I use this flour I get superior results and I've used it for everything: piecrust (the best!), muffins, cakes, as a thickener in sauces and soups and any other use for which a cook needs flour.

One mixed flour product I've tried is labelled "white/whole wheat flour" and it cannot compare to real whole wheat pastry flour. True whole wheat pastry flour is more finely milled than traditional whole-wheat flour and has a light texture that always blends perfectly in recipes.

Any serious cook needs to try using this flour, if you haven't done so yet. Prior to finding it on amazon, I had to make trips to specialty health food stores and once bought a 50-pound sack just to avoid running out during our New England winters. Storage was a challenge, so finding smaller packages online is a wish come true!
